FAQ: My dCS DAC set to the 1394 input displays Search... all the time - is the DAC faulty?

Maybe – but there are other possibilities. The DAC is the only unit in the system that checks the data on the 1394 bus and reports faults on the bus. The Transport and Upsampler cannot report errors. A 1394 fault can be caused by a fault in any of the 3 units, a damaged 1394 cable, a missing or damaged clock cable or incompatible 1394 software (Classic units should be loaded with 1394 code Db:2.06).  Please check that the system is set up correctly, replace the 1394 and clock cables if possible then contact your dCS dealer or distributor for help. If he cannot resolve the problem, please contact us.
