FAQ: If DoP (DSD over PCM) is conversion to 16/176.4 PCM, doesn't this waste some detail?
This is a common mistake. DoP involves REPACKING DSD into a familiar envelope for convenient transfer. It is still DSD data, it has not been converted in any way. After unpacking, the DSD data is recovered completely unchanged.
