Distributor Programme
What is the dCS Distributor Programme?
The dCS Distributor Program trains suitably qualified people and organisations to become distributors of dCS audiophile products.
In which regions do we require Distributors?
dCS products are currently available in over 35 countries worldwide. The dCS audiophile product range is supplied through our authorized network of highly trained, extensively supported distributors and their appointed dealer networks.
If you believe that you have the expertise to sell and support the dCS audiophile product range and dCS owners in your market we would like to hear from you.
What pre-existing knowledge is required?
dCS distributors normally have a background in high end audio sales, distribution and support. They also have an excellent reputation and existing relationships with the mainstream and specialist hi-fi media in their geography.
What opportunities are available through selling dCS products?
dCS is the world leader in high end digital audio components. Since 1987 dCS has been at the forefront of digital audio - creating products that are a unique synthesis of exact science and creative imagination. Due to the increasing worldwide demand for our audiophile products, dCS represents an excellent partnership opportunity for both you and dCS.
What is involved in the distribution of our products?
dCS products are designed and hand built in the UK to deliver a totally unique listening experience. The best materials combined with decades of experience and skilled manufacturing guarantee amazing performance.
In return we expect our distributors and dealers to take as much care and attention when selling and supporting dCS products as we do when building the product. Since distributing dCS involves a number of professional services, this is not just a freight forwarding job. The services we expect our distributors to perform include:
1. Selecting appropriate dCS dealers
2. Training - provide indepth training to dCS dealers
3. Sales - Demonstration and Sale of dCS Products to Dealers and End Users
4. Installation of Demonstration Systems in dCS Dealers
5. Local language technical support to dCS Dealers and Owners
6. Ongoing technical support to dCS Dealers
7. Manage relationships with local media and specialist hi-fi press
In addition, we expect our distributors to invest in the dCS brand through marketing, advertising, trade shows and other activity that increases the visibility of dCS in your area.
How do I become a dCS distributor?
Past experience has demonstrated that both dCS and the Distributor are most successful in the initial phase if they have one or more specific qualified opportunities in the territory to work with. The best way forward is for you to interest one or more potential dealers in the dCS product range. From there a joint business plan can be developed for your territory which will cover the opportunities and the resources required by both organisations for success.
Once agreed, training for your organisation as a dCS Distributor will begin. This would include your staff coming to England for both sales and technical training.
If you are interested in becoming a dCS Distributor, please complete our enquiry form and we send all the necessary information as well as an application form. The application will be reviewed according to the following stages:
Steps
- Complete application and return dCS to review and respond
- Exploration of opportunities in your region
- Agreement on potential business in your territory
- Formal agreement with dCS
- Training at dCS - 3 day course for sales/technical staff.
What support do you provide to your Distributors?
dCS will assist in the early phases of the relationship with technical training and pre-sales support to help educate your team and prospective dCS dealers.
dCS understands that Distributors may not be in a position to undertake the support of a complete sale from the offset and that there is a "settling-in" period. Therefore dCS will be heavily involved in supporting your early efforts, supporting you through the learning phase and then gradually diminishing our support over time as your knowledge progresses and you have begun to bring on board and support new dealers independently.
To capture the value of these relationships, dCS has created the dCS Distributor Programme. dCS distributors are fully trained to carry out all sales, installation and technical support activities.
dCS dealers are recognised as being experts in high end two channel audio. In order to become a dCS dealer you must be appointed by an authorised distributor or dCS and complete dCS product training.
We expect dCS dealers to have the premises and the ability to demonstrate the dCS product lines effectively. This requires a high degree of dCS product knowledge and technical knowledge of digital audio.
A dCS dealer must be passionate about delivering the highest standards of customer service and also understand their local market, being able to provide first level to support to dCS owners in their territory.
